International Day of Yoga, also known as IDY, was established on December 11, 2014, by the United Nations General Assembly. This special day, celebrated annually on June 21st, coincides with the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. At HealthifyMe, celebrating International Day of Yoga has become a cherished tradition. What began as a single-city Yoga session in 2015 has evolved into a grand multi-city event in partnership with Reebok India. The event, held in Bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai, featured Yoga sessions following the 26 yoga asanas of the Common Yoga Protocol, aligning with the global theme of promoting good health through Yoga.

Thousands of HealthifyMe users and fitness enthusiasts came together on June 21st to participate in hour-long Yoga sessions and engaging activities. The event was a huge success, drawing attention to the importance of incorporating Yoga into daily life for overall well-being.

In addition to the public event, HealthifyMe’s in-house Yoga coaches traveled across the country to conduct Yoga sessions for employees of corporate wellness and healthcare partners, including L&T Infotech, Navionics Tech Ltd, New Growth, Concur Technologies, Manipal Hospitals, and Sakra Hospitals. These sessions aimed to promote workplace wellness and introduce more individuals to the benefits of Yoga.

Within the HealthifyMe app, users were encouraged to participate in International Day of Yoga by completing simple tasks and reading articles to kickstart their Yoga journey. Regular practitioners were invited to share photos of themselves practicing their favorite Yoga asanas, fostering a sense of community and motivation.
